Day 1 – Arrival in Johannesburg – Sabi Sabi

Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you are met at the airport and assisted to the Federal Air terminal to catch your flight direct to Sabi Sabi Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park. Since 1978 guests from all parts of the world have been enthralled by Africa's fabled wildlife in their natural habitat at Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. Set in the game rich Sabie River Valley, Sabi Sabi has spectacular Big Five game viewing. Your lodge is the avant-garde Earth Lodge. In the late afternoon, you are taken on your first game drive in an open land rover by a specially-trained Game Ranger and Trackers. You return after dark for a safari cuisine supper under the African stars.

Day 2 – Sabi Sabi

For the next two days your Game Ranger and Tracker will take you on safari - both by day and night - and on walking trails, learning about some 300 bird species and 200 animal species, including lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, elephant and cheetah, tracked and followed off-road, deep into the African bushveld. There will be two game drives each day, one leaving very early in the morning and one leaving in the late afternoon, returning after dark, as these are the best times for game viewing. Animals are at their most active then and some nocturnal animals are still about. Between game drives you can relax by your plunge pool or enjoy one of the health and beauty therapies on offer at the spa.

Day 3 – Sabi Sabi to Tanda Tula

This morning you are taken on your last game drive at Sabi Sabi before you bid farewell to this African wonderland. You are collected from Sabi Sabi and transferred northwards to the world-famous Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, also part of Greater Kruger. Tanda Tula is a Big Five game-viewing haven and the seclusion of the camp allows traversing on thousands of hectares of pristine African Wilderness. Tanda Tula's magnificent thatched, East African style tents, with their spacious wooden decks overlooking the dry river bed, are the epitome of luxury and seclusion.

Tanda Tula is graded 5-star. In the late afternoon you will be taken on a game drive in an open landrover with a highly qualified game ranger. You return to the lodge after dark for a safari cuisine dinner.

Day 5 – Tanda Tula to Durban

This morning you are taken on your last game drive at Tanda Tula so keep your eyes peeled for any animals you may not have seen yet. After the game drive, you check out of Tanda Tula and are transferred to Hoedspruit Airport to catch your flight to Johannesburg and then onwards to Durban. You are met at Durban airport and transferred to the 5-star Royal Hotel. Situated in the heart of Durban, The Royal Hotel provides unfailing hospitality by offering butler services to all customers, and an energetic customer focused team. It boasts a superb range of restaurants and sophistication is the keynote throughout the rooms and suites, which offer panoramic views of the city and yacht basin.

Day 6 – Durban to Zimbali

After breakfast you are collected from the hotel and taken on a three hour city tour of Durban. Sights that will be covered on the drive include Marine Parade, Durban Harbour, the Victoria Embankment, Vasco da Gama Clock, the Sugar Terminal, a vibrant Indian market and the city centre. You are then transferred north of Durban to Zimbali. Days 7 to 9 – Zimbali

You have the next three days to unwind at Zimbali. Zimbali is an ideal retreat when it comes to getting-away-from-it-all and relaxing. The superb 18-hole championship golf course has been designed specifically for use by golf cart and offers one of the most breathtaking, scenic golf experiences in the world. It is a par 72 championship course. There are also two floodlit tennis courts. The beautiful pool area overlooks the Ocean and the pool appears to meander directly into the sea. Sun loungers, umbrellas and towels are available around the pool. This stretch of coastline is not designated for swimming, however, but other bathing beaches are located nearby. Take a gentle canter around the estate on horseback, meander through the indigenous forest and onto the beach, accompanied by experienced guides. As a protected environment, the Estate is home to a wide variety of birdlife, magnificent butterflies and buck and any number of these can be seen on a walk through the forest.

You have the afternoon at leisure to visit the fashionable shopping precinct of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, where you can book a ferry trip to Robben Island. An ex-prisoner takes you on an extensive tour of the prison, which includes a visit to Nelson Mandela's cell, the limestone quarry and the old leper colony.

Day 10 – Zimbali and departure

After breakfast this morning, there is time for a last swim before you check out of Zimbali and are transferred to Durban to catch a flight back to Johannesburg. At Johannesburg you will connect with your international flight home.
