Day 1 – Arrival in Johannesburg

Day 3 – Johannesburg to Sabi Sabi
This morning you are transferred back to Johannesburg airport for your flight direct to Sabi Sabi Game Reserve. The next 2 days are spent experiencing unsurpassed game viewing by day and by night. Day 5 – Sabi Sabi to Johannesburg, on to Port Elizabeth
This morning you enjoy your last game drive at Sabi Sabi before your flight back to Johannesburg. At Johannesburg you will connect with a flight to Port Elizabeth. At Port Elizabeth airport you will collect your Group D (Toyota Corolla or similar) hire car from the car hire company outside Arrivals. A five minute drive will bring you to the Beach Hotel, a 4-star hotel on Port Elizabeth's beautiful beachfront. The hotel overlooks the sun-drenched sands of Hobie Beach.

Day 8 – Jeffreys Bay to Tsala
Depart Jeffreys Bay and head off along the N2 highway to the start of the Garden Route at the Tsitsikamma forest, an indigenous primeval forest with towering ancient yellowwood trees, lush vegetation and deep gorges. We recommend you drive down the steep pass to the aptly-named Storms River Mouth, where there are numerous short walking trails into the forest. We also recommend a visit to the 800-year old "Big Tree".
Enjoy a scenic drive via spectacular single-span bridges and past Plettenberg Bay to Tsala Treetop Lodge. We suggest you take a sundowner ferry on the Knysna Lagoon, which will take you out to the Heads, the large sandstone cliffs guarding the narrow mouth to the lagoon. Alternatively, you might like to delve into the past and catch the historic Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe steam train to George and back. Enjoy dinner at one of the Knysna quayside restaurants, do a tour of an oyster farm, take walks in the Knysna Forest, or simply relax in the beautifully landscaped gardens that run down to the edge of the lagoon.

Day 12 – Knysna to the Winelands
After checking out of The St James, you will continue along the N2 highway, travelling via Wilderness, Mossel Bay and Swellendam. The breath-taking Sir Lowry's Pass will bring you over the mountains into the Cape Peninsula. It is here that you will catch your first sight of the Mother City and Table Mountain. Soon after the bottom of the Pass, you will turn off to Stellenbosch, and then continue through to Roggeland Country House, near Paarl. Days 13 & 14 – The Winelands
The next two days are spent in the Cape Winelands with its backdrop of majestic mountain ranges and lush valleys. We suggest you spend each day following a particular wine route (Paarl, Stellenbosch or Franschhoek). You can stop for tastings at wine estates along the way and you will have the chance to purchase some of the wines you have tasted. Other sights worth seeing in the Winelands are Stellenbosch, the "town of oaks" and South Africa's second oldest town.
A scenic drive over the Helshoogte Pass (Hell's Heights) takes you to the Franschhoek Valley where you can visit the memorial to the French Huguenots, who sought refuge from religious persecution in Europe and settled here in the late seventeenth century. Paarl, with its three imposing granite domes and monument to the Afrikaans language, is also an interesting stop.

Days 16 to 19 – Cape Town
The next four days are at leisure in Cape Town. Alternating with time spent on the beach, we recommend a scenic drive along the coast to Cape Point, returning via the penguin colony at Boulders. You may also like to spend time at the V&A Waterfront, either at the trendy shopping precinct or at the Two Oceans Aquarium, which is highly recommended for the insight it gives into life in the two oceans off the southern tip of Africa – the cold Atlantic Ocean and the warm Indian Ocean.
You can also take a ferry from the Waterfront across Table Bay to Robben Island. An ex-prisoner takes you on an extensive tour of the prison, which includes a visit to Nelson Mandela's cell, the limestone quarry and the old leper colony. Museum lovers can wander through the South African Museum and the National Art Gallery. Of course, no honeymoon in Cape Town would be complete without a romantic trip up Table Mountain for the spectacular views over one of the world's most beautiful cities.
